The company focuses on presence-related software for Java environments. The original Antepo supported XMPP, the protocol used by Jabber, an open source instant messaging system developed by Jabber Inc.

In the latest release, version 3.0, Antepo has added support for SIMPLE, the IM protocol based on SIP, the session initiation protocol used generally in voice-related applications. Accept now has a SIP-to-XMPP gateway, allowing IM systems using both protocols to be handled on one server.

While SIMPLE has gained some support as the potential standard for IM at the Internet Engineering Task Force, and amongst vendors themselves, it is not used by every IM client. Antepo said SIMPLE support means Windows Messenger and Lotus Sametime can be used, in addition to Jabber.

The company has made SIP For Jabber available as a separate gateway product for Jabber users. Accept 3.0 also has a Mobile Edition, which allows the SIP and XMPP protocols to be used for SMS and WAP-based wireless services.
