Satellite manufacturer Antenna Technology Communications Corp and Innovacom Inc, a video compression technology firm, have discontinued merger negotiations that began last December (CI No 3,063), according to Antenna. Gary Hatch, CEO of Antenna, said that while the merger plan had many potential benefits and there were agreements in principal, the two companies were unable to hammer out a deal before a deadline imposed by Antenna. Hatch said that interest in Antenna isn’t limited to Innovacom and that his company simply couldn’t keep itself off the market any longer. Innovacom issued no statement on the matter.
