ANOTHER XEROX AND NOVELL ALLIANCE

By CBR Staff Writer

Xerox Corp and Novell Inc have added another to their string of alliances, this time designed to make it easier for users to track down, use and share documents going through the leading computer networks: the first offering will be Document Enabled Networking for Novell NetWare, intended to aid software developers in the creation of programs that act as document detectives, enabling users anywhere on a NetWare network to locate and retrieve documents quickly and automatically, regardless where they are are stored, searching on key word or words, or any of the document’s attributes, such as date of creation or name of the author; Document Enabled Networking-compliant applications will be on the market in the first half of 1995.
