Another piece of investors’ blackmail appears to have worked: Vitalink Communications Corp has tentatively agreed to pay $1.9m to settle a class action lawsuit brought last June after the company warned that profits wouldn’t meet expectations and the chairman, president and chief executive George Archuleta had resigned; the company’s shares slumped 25% in a single day.
