The handful of supercomputer manufacturers are beginning to look bruised and battered from the barrage of benchmarks being thrown around: this time it’s Cray Research Inc’s turn to duck a bumper bowled by NEC Corp, which says its SX-3 outperformed the biggest Y-MP in the two Tennessee Linpack tests run by the University of Tenessee.
