The service, which is expected to be up and running next month, will rely on Alcatel’s Local Multipoint Distribution Services (LMDS).
It has become commonplace to use LMDS to backhaul growing amounts of voice and data traffic from mobile phone users, on top of the traditional broadband services it allows.
LMDS technology will enable MobilRom to absorb the increasing traffic demand of GSM network evolving to 3G, and to offer data and voice fixed services to its customers, placing it firmly at the technological head of the fierce Romanian market.
