Toronto, Canada-based data mining company Angoss Software Corp has announced the commercial release of KnowledgeExcelerator and KnowledgeAccess data mining add-ins for Microsoft Corp Excel and Access spreadsheet and database applications, which it says gives business users affordable access to data mining technology. The price is $500 for Excelerator, $800 for Access and $1,000 for both. Angoss has been targeting the Microsoft business intelligence environment, and has integrated its tools with SQL Server 7 and Microsoft compliant applications that work with it. Microsoft’s MSN business unit has just become a customer.
Angoss says the latest version of its KnowledgeStudio product, version 2.0.2, is currently in beta testing. It has a long- standing OEM deal with the UK’s Whitecross Data Explorations Ltd for KnowledgeStudio, which will see Whitecross bundling the tool in with its own HeatSeeker product under the name ExplorationStudio. The Whitecross version is aimed at high volume, data exploration and data mining applications, including telecom, web and on-line e-business environments.
