ANDREW CORP INVESTS IN TWO FIRMS TO CONQUER BRAZIL

Orland Park, Illinois-based Andrew Corp has bought a majority interest in two Brazilian manufacturing companies, positioning itself better to serve customers in South America. It invested $15m in Mapra Industria e Comercio Ltda and Gerbo Telecomunicacoes e Servicos Ltda. The companies manufacture, distribute and sell antennae, waveguide and towers and provide installation services. Both are located in Sorocaba, some 40 miles from Sao Paulo in Brazil.
