Marc Andreessen, the former chief technology officer at America Online Inc and founder of Netscape Communications Corp, plans to sell a further $9.44m tranche of his AOL stock, according to recent filings with the US Securities and Exchanges Commission. Andreessen filed late last month to cash in 80,000 common shares. He sold more than 940,000 shares in August for more than $90m, his SEC filing said.
Andreessen quit as chief technology officer of AOL in September to take an advisory roll on new technologies and investment opportunities at the number-one internet service provider. His latest incarnation is as an internet venture investor, and he recently joined the board of Cacheflow Inc, an internet caching appliances provider, which is planning an initial public offering. Late last month he co-founded Loudcloud Inc, a web site developer.
