ANDERSON JACOBSON ON ITS WAY TO CXR

By CBR Staff Writer

Troubled computer and data communications equipment maker Anderson Jacobson Inc of San Jose, which made a disastrous foray into laptop computers and mortgaged the shop to fund a data PABX development that went wrong, has moved forward its plan to be acquired by Mountain View-based CXR Telcom Corp. The board of each company unanimously approved a definitive agreement under which Anderson Jacobson will be acquired by CXR Telcom. Shareholders of Anderson Jacobson will be offered 0.364 shares of CXR Telcom common for each Anderson they hold, valuing the latter at about $6m. Shareholders are likely to be invited to approve the plan in early August.
