ANDATCO OFFERS XCELRATED’s LIKEN EMULATOR TO RUN MAC CODE ON SUN KIT

By CBR Staff Writer

San Diego-based Andataco Inc is offering Xcelerated Systems Inc’s Liken software, which enables applications written for Apple Computer Inc’s Macintosh to run unchanged on Sun Microsystems Inc Sparc-based workstations. The companies claim that most Macintosh applications that run on a monochrome 68000 machine will run without modification on a Sun workstation. Liken’s performance on a 24Mb SPARCStation IPX is said to be similar to that of a 16MHz 68030. Liken provides for window sizes from 512 by 342 pixels to 1,152 by 900 and it is claimed that Claris Filemaker Pro, MacWrite, MacDraw, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint all run without modification on a Sun workstation. Liken is $700.
