Meanwhile, Software AG has teamed up with fellow German software house SAP AG of Walldorf, to develop a series of object-oriented tools collectively called Alice which will enable users of SAP and Software AG software to import personal computer-based word processors, spreadsheets, electronic mail and facsimile services into Unix, MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, OS/2 and Apple Computer Inc Macintosh environments. The two companies are also working to integrate Software AG’s Entire communications technology with SAP’s R/2 and R/3 financial applications suites. The first Alice tools are planned to be launched at the CeBit show, Hannover next year.
