Hopkinton, Massachusetts-based EMC Corp is not going to be bullied by IBM Corp, and that company has filed a business libel suit in US Distric Court in Boston against IBM, IBM Credit Corp and its presidnet Harry Kavetas, and other unnamed defendants over what it calls a false and misleading press release issued by the defendants last week that stated that substitute memory provided by EMC to an IBM Credit Corp customer was counterfeit. EMC said that the charges made against it in the IBM release are patently false and that the defamatory language used in making the accusations was calculated to inflict the greatest possible harm on the reputation of EMC.
