…AND ENDS “NO LAY-OFFS” PRETENCE IN US MARKETING

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM Corp has thrown away the figleaf that protected its no lay-offs policy and in announcing to the unit’s 47,000 employees the US Marketing & Services Transition Payment Programme, warns that while it will pay up to one year’s salary based on service and medical coverage provided for 12 months, involuntary reductions may occur in some geographic and business areas. Those affected must be out by June 30.
