AT&T Co has responded to Motorola Inc’s invasion of its cordless phone turf by announcing that it will take on Motorola in portable and car cellular phones in the US, starting next month: the phones are being made by Oki Electric Industry Co’s Oki Telecom unit, the flagship product is the 3730 portable that has display screen with built-in user guide, 200-number memory, battery life of 70 hours of talk between charges, and weighs 12.7 oz.
