Thame, Oxfordshire-based Memory & Electronic Components – Memec Plc – is to be US chip manufacturer Cyrix Corp’s sole UK distributor under a new sales and marketing deal between Cyrix and the Memec-Rein group: Cyrix will cease trading with its current UK distributors in three months; Memec companies include Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire-based Amber Cascom Ltd which distributes to the OEM market; Diss, Norfolk-based Midwich Thame Ltd which focusses on the micro dealer and end user upgrade market and Thame Systems Ltd which targets personal computer assemblers and resellers; Memec chairs the board administering Munich company Rein Elektronik GmbH which will handle Cyrix’s distribution in Germany.
