In today’s issue you will see our take on Oracle Corp’s internet messaging, version 4.2 – which would make you think it’s an insignificant dot release – but apparently it’s a completely new product, according to the company at least. Against our better judgment, we thought we’d ask the analysts recommended and briefed by Oracle what they thought about it, just for a change. All we got from four of the major technology analysts firms – you know who they are – were glowing references about how this will enable Oracle to set itself apart from its competitors and how wonderfully scaleable and reliable al Oracle systems are – at least from the ones that deigned to reply. We won’t be bothering them again for a while.
