Analysts are feeling more happy than for a long time about the prospects for IBM Corp, but the average of forecasts for the second quarter is a still cautious $1.35 a share, compared with 20 cents a year ago and $2.45 in 1990: some hope that IBM will deliver a pleasant surprise with something better.
