ANALYST PREDICTS EUROPEAN PAGER GROWTH

The European paging market is set to reach over 18 million subscribers by 2001, despite its current low growth rates. Eutelis SA of Paris claimed in a report that current lethargy was a result of poor support from telecommunications companies. It says mass marketing, price cuts, the proposed ERMES European standard for pagers, and more sophisticated technology including access to the internet, would all help realize the market’s huge growth potential.
