Norwood, Massachusetts-based Analog Devices Inc reports that Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA is using its ADSP-2111 signal processor chip in its new Quaderno MS-DOS pocket computer, which is about a third the size of traditional notebook personal computers; the signal processor, in combination with special speech software, enables users to record and play back speech memos; spoken messages are stored on the hard disk, and they can also be attached to text-based applications.
