Don’t get too excited about audio-on-demand – in the test earlier this summer where the Geffen Records arm of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co’s MCA Inc made a previously unreleased Aerosmith track available to CompuServe’s estimated 2m subscribers, so that they could download the track into their computers by typing Go Aerosmith and then play it if they had a sound board and a pair of speakers, it took an hour to download the three-minute song, which is an awful lot of connect time to have to pay for.
