AMX International will integrate Intergraph’s geographic information system (GIS), outage management, design and mobile workforce management (MWFM) technology with its existing business offerings to provide utilities with a suite of technologies to manage their operations.

The companies said that the combined offering will unite AMX International technology with Intergraph GIS and field operation offerings, which is expected to enhance productivity and integration issues. Additional optional components for the pre-integrated offering include e-billing, business intelligence, cashiering, customer self-service and call centre software.

Jay Price, president of AMX International, said: Intergraph’s powerful, open technologies, support for industry standards and vast experience in the utilities sector make the company an obvious choice for completing our utilities management portfolio.

In addition, the combined offering also provides one common user interface across all departments, one point of system communications and work assignments, and web access to variety of information. The offering also supports regulatory compliance efforts, can be installed on all databases, operating systems and technical platforms and can be integrated with third-party applications through web services, the companies added.

Jay Stinson, vice president of utilities and communications at Intergraph, said: “By combining our key strengths, Intergraph and AMX International are providing utilities with a turnkey solution for operating their businesses as successfully as possible. We foresee this solution being especially effective for smaller utilities that do not have the resources for lengthy, costly integration projects.
