Sega Enterprises Ltd has joined forced with Amstrad Plc to producing video game computers to be distributed exclusively by Amstrad across Europe from September, Reuter reports from Tokyo. The wire quotes a Sega spokesman saying that the product will be based on 16-bit personal computers made by Amstrad and will contain devices compatable to Sega’s Mega Drive system so that the machines can be used to play video games. Amstrad will also start selling the machines in Australia and New Zealand in 1993; Sega looks for sales in Europe to reach 200,000 in the first year, rising sales to about 400,000 in the second year. Between them, Sega and Nintendo Co dominate the video games market so the deal looks good for Amstrad.
