Amstrad Plc is preparing a Z80-based notebook computer for launch in the spring according to New Computer Express, which describes a machine similar to Cambridge Computers Ltd’s Z88. The machine is expected to come with full keyboard, and will use battery-backed CMOS memory for storage, although an external disk may be supported. It will have an 80 character by eight line liquid crystal display and cost about UKP200.
