Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based Amquest Corp has launched a newline of 33.6 HyperModems claimed to deliver up to 300Kbps maximum throughput with optimized 8:1 compression – over twice the speed of conventional 33.6Kbps and 28.8Kbps modems. They support V.34/V.Fast Class 33.6 data transmission and lower speed standards as well as 14.4 Group 3 Send/Receive facsimile. The AM3314I-HY (internal), AM3314IV-HY (internal voice) and AM3314E-HY (external) have estimated street prices of $150, $160 and $170 respectively.
