AMPEX CORP COMPUTER DIVISION INTRODUCES THE AMPEX 270

The Ampex Corp Computer Division based in Reading has introduced the Ampex 270, a high-resolution ASCII display with overscanned video technology and proprietary emulation for word processing applications: Ampex claims that the terminal meets demand for a display that minimises eye strain and offers word processing attributes such as superscript, subscript, proportional spacing and italics unavailable on other ASCII displays; no prices.
