Ampex Corp has completed a value- added reseller agreement with IBM Corp: Ampex sets pricing and certain other terms for the purchase and resale by IBM of Ampex’s DST 600 and DST 800 19mm tape drives and robotic libraries but does not require any minimum purchase commitment; this supersedes a previous OEM agreement which also did not require any minimum level of purchases; the agreement will enable IBM to offer a high performance virtual disk storage system incorporating Ampex’s DST DD-2 format; Ampex expects to obtain from IBM rights to market software that is used in the jointly developed storage systems; it is discussing an agreement under which IBM would provide service for systems sold by Ampex in the US; and Ampex said the companies are discussing possible arrangements for IBM to offer systems integration services to Ampex.
