Ameritech Corp, Chicago will create 12 business units under a restructuring that it says is not aimed at resizing the company: the shake-up will leave 11 units organized around specific customer groups and a single business unit to run the network in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, although the Bell companies will each continue to function as legal entities in each state and own the assets.
