Ameritech Corp said the US Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled that companies like Ameritech do not need to obtain local franchises to construct a video dial tone network: Ameritech announced in January plans to build the net to deliver interactive video services to 6m homes by the year 2000 at a cost of $4,400m.
