New York-based American Megatrends Inc is supporting the Chips & Technologies Inc Super386 microprocessor family with BIOS said to maximise performance and provide compatibility with industry standard architecture systems: it is designed to provide OEM customers with a standard BIOS for AT, Micro Channel, and EISA-compatible systems based on Super386 DX and SX microprocessors, and the company has announced BIOS derivatives which support the Super386 SuperState System Management Architecture; also, American Megatrends says it will support a superset socket which can accommodate CHIPSystem Architecture Super38600 microprocessors, 80386 microprocessors from Intel Corp and Advanced Micro Devices Inc, or the Super38605 extended socket microprocessors from Chips & Technologies on a single board.
