American Industrial Systems (AIS) has rolled out a new 7” Rugged Panel PC powered by an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Intel Celeron 1Ghz processor. It comes withbuilt-in touch screen capability for easy interface and control.

AIS said that the Industrial panel PC line would be suitable for automation control, HMI, testing equipment, process monitoring, kiosks and digital signage.

According to AIS, the new panel PC features include: Intel 852GM/ICH4 Chipset, 4 wire resistive touch, rugged aluminum clamshell housing, IP65 sealed front bezel and built-in wireless capability. The new panel PC’s fanless design is housed in a compact chassis design with the front fascia sealed to IP65 dust/waterproof international protection standards.

The company said that the units are encased in an aluminum clamshell housing to protect the components from harsh industrial environments including shock/vibration, dust, water, and excessive use. VESA spaced holes are available for easy mounting to any fixtures. Wireless modules with external antenna are built-in for easy connectivity for monitoring, control, and communication.

AIS claims that the new 7” Rugged Panel PC will be a cost effective unit to answer the demand for small form factor ruggedised computers in the market.
