America Online Inc, Vienna, Virginia reckons it is the fastest-growing consumer on-line information service in the US with 1m subscribers level at the end of July after 900,000 in June and 800,000 in May: Compuserve Inc claims to have 2.2m paying subscribers, and Prodigy Services Co claims to have the same number but it counts everyone that has access to its shared accounts.
