Nokia has partnered with America Movil, a Mexico-based mobile operator, to bring Nokia Maps Navigation to America Movil consumers in Latin America, who purchase Nokia GPS-enabled phones.

This collaboration in Nokia Maps is part of a broader partnership between Nokia and America Movil in the area of value-added services. The companies also announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding related to broader services collaboration.

By combining America Movil’s marketing, customer and service expertise and Nokia’s strength in device development and integration, the two companies are looking to jointly lead innovation in 3G data services in Latin America.

Nokia Maps, with GPS functionality and featuring location-based services, empowers users to navigate, whether searching for an unfamiliar address in their home city or exploring a vacation destination. It features maps for more than 200 countries and large number of points of interest.
