Advanced Micro Devices Inc’s new $108m factory in Suzhou city in eastern China’s Jiangsu Province has gone into production and will be packing 550,000 chips a week and testing 750,000 a week. Next year production will be ramped up so the factory will be able to pack 1.4 million and test 1.7 million chips a week, according to AMD vice chairman Richard Previte.
