Amdahl Corp’s global solutions division yesterday unveiled the first part of its corporate strategy; a step by step plan that it will use to help companies develop and deploy their IT infrastructure. Alan Bell, president of the group told ComputerWire that the unit would base its consultation and implementation process around four key areas: enterprise application deployment (EAD), systems management, data management and enterprise integration.
Yesterday’s announcement gave details about Amdahl’s plans for the fourth process, enterprise integration, with details about the other areas being released in the next couple of weeks, Bell said. Bell said the group’s enterprise integration strategy would specifically center around the implementation of SAP R/3 ERP software. Moreover, the group will focus on customers who already have SAP installed but who are experiencing problems and need their infrastructure re-engineered to get the most out of their ERP system, Bell said.
