Amdahl Corp president and chief executive Joseph Zemke is promising that the company will be offering a new storage product in the second half of the year. He also said development of the next-generation mainframe, its first pass at a CMOS machine, is proceeding on schedule and it should be available by mid-1996. Amdahl is hoarding cash to prepare for the transition to it, and for acquisitions.
