Amdahl Corp was back on a bullish tack after its recent setback on the profit and loss front when it ascended a platform in Brussels yesterday to talk about its Huron software development environment: David Wright, vice-president and general manager for Europe said that the company’s first eight-way multiprocessor would go in at a European services company before the end of this month, representing a $15m to $20m sale, and that more than 10 eight-bangers would go in by the end of the year; he also expects a rush to take delivery of machines in the US after the presidential election is out of the way – he says he knows of 10 $5m to $8m deals that were postponed until after the election result is known.
