AMD subpoenaed Intel’s outside lawyers over the matter earlier this week. Intel has said there were significant lapses in electronic files that it is collecting for the case. And late last month, Intel filed a remedial plan with the courts to try to smooth over the problems.
AMD has now subpoenaed Intel outside lawyers Howrey LLP and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles.
We believe that Intel’s outside counsel were involved as actors in developing Intel’s document preservation plans at the outset of the case, said AMD lawyer Frederick Cottrell, in a letter to Poppiti.
AMD has alleged Intel chief executive Paul Otellini and chairman Craig Barrett were among staffers who did not save electronic documents. Intel has countered that AMD’s allegations were based on incomplete information, but has not refuted them.
