Acacia subsidiary VData had previously filed a lawsuit against AMD claiming infringement of its patents in multi-dimensional bar codes. Another Acacia subsidiary, Computer Cache Coherency, also had previously filed a patent-infringement lawsuit against AMD related to certain core logic computer chipsets.
Both lawsuits were resolved with AMD’s new licensing agreements with each subsidiary. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Newport Beach, California-based Acacia said VData has patent lawsuits for its bar code technology pending pending in a Minnesota district court against Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Thailand, Boston Scientific and Mitsubishi, among others.
Computer Cache Coherency also has outstanding patent lawsuits for its technology pending in a California district court against Intel and Via Technologies.
