Despite sales of the Am386 way ahead of its forecasts – it has now brought in $110m – Sunnyvale, California-based Advanced Micro Devices Inc warns that it expects to report slightly lower sequential sales and reduced sequential earnings for the third quarter just ended: it expects total sales, while up in double digits over the comparable quarter of 1990, will be off a few percentage points from the fiscal third quarter’s total of $297m.
