AMD PUTS WINDOWS CE ON ITS ELANSC400 MICROCONTROLLER

Advanced Micro Devices Inc has put Microsoft Corp’s Windows CE operating system up on the 80486-compatible ElanSC400 microcontroller. CE now runs on six processors, the other five being Hitachi Ltd SH-3, R-series-derived processors from NEC Electronics Inc and Philips Semiconductors Inc; Advanced RISC Machine Ltd’s ARM, the PowerPC and iAPX-86 parts.
