By CBR Staff Writer

Responding to price cuts from industry leader Intel Corp, Advanced Micro Devices Inc says it has cut prices an average of 46% on its AMD-K6 MMX-enhanced microprocessors. Effective immediately, the price of the K6/233 is $290, down from $470, the K6/200 is $190, down from $350, and the K6/166 will go for $110, down from $245. Prices are based on 1,000-unit quantities. AMD says the price cuts are intended to maintain its strategy of selling the AMD-K6 for at least 25% less than comparable Intel products.
