Advanced Micro Devices Inc, in bed with Fujitsu Ltd on Flash memory, is looking to the technology to continue the boost it got from its Am386 microprocessor: it says that its Flash memory business is booming and that it is still on track to release its Am486 microprocessor in the middle of the year; analysts point out that Intel Corp stumbled badly when its newest series of Flash memory chips was delayed by about a year because of production problems at an outside foundry fabricating the chip for the Santa Clara, California-based company.
