Advanced Micro Devices Inc, Sunnyvale California has filed a patent infringement suit against Altera Corp in Altera’s home town of San Jose, California, at the district court: the suit alleges that Altera’s MAX 7000 product line infringes seven Advanced Micro patents relating to integrated circuit technology used in its MACH and 22V10 products; Advanced Micro says it is seeking monetary damages and injunctive relief to halt manufacture and sale of the Altera products; Altera reckons that the suit is without merit and will defend it.
