Advanced Micro Devices China Co Ltd is based in Beijing, and has been registered as a foreign-invested holding company, allowing it a broader range of maneuver in the country.
The new operation plans satellite branches in Shanghai and Shenzhen. AMD has been operating in China since 1993, but in recent years has worked to forge strong ties with both the Chinese government and with the burgeoning Chinese IT sector.
