Advanced Micro Devices Inc will launch its new Athlon processor in Europe on August 1. AMD-loving web site K7 Generation claims that the chips will be priced at 397 pounds ($626) for the 500 MHz version, 455 pounds ($717) for the 550 MHz version and 679 pounds ($1,070) for the 600 MHz version, in 1,000 unit quantities.
