AMD AND NOKIA SIGN AGREEMENT

Advanced Micro Devices of Sunnyvale and Micronas, Helsinki-based designer of integrated circuits for telecommunications majority-owned by Finland’s Oy Nokia, have signed a multi-year agreement to team up on the manufacture and marketing of telecom chips: the first product to come out of the agreement, planned for availability during the second quarter of 1988, will be a full duplex, 2,400bps single-chip modem.
