Over 26,000 AMD processor-based systems will be installed at the Hebei Education Bureau as part of China’s informatilization strategy, which was selected by China’s Central Government as a way to improve nationwide education by enhancing the social and economic development in rural areas.
AMD said that the project would help hundreds of thousands of students improve their education. According to the project’s managers, hundreds of networked computer classrooms will be built, each deploying one AMD Opteron processor-based server and 30 desktop PCs.
Lenovo will implement AMD Sempron processor-based Lenovo Qitian M 6200 systems in the education project with the aim of offering users in China an opportunity to purchase a PC with performance and features designed to meet their daily home and business computing needs.
