Semiconductor company AMD has launched new AMD Opteron 3200 Series processor which offers dedicated Web hosting customers with up to 38% enhanced price performance than its competitors, the company said.

The new processor delivers up to 19% less power per core and up to 14% quick hardware payback than its direct competitors.

It offers ECC memory, server reliability features and efficient economics for the Cloud with double core density per rack.

AMD claims that it has fulfilled its promise of a low-power, single-socket application that brings server functionality with desktop economics with the AMD Opteron 3200 Series processor.

The new release is available in either 4- or 8-core CPUs which is being shipped in platforms from MSI, Tyan, Fujitsu and Dell.
