Semiconductor company AMD has launched its new graphics card – the AMD Radeon HD 6990 – featuring AMD’s second-generation, Microsoft DirectX 11-capable architecture.
The new graphics card designed for power gamers has advanced image quality features for the best looking games, and AMD PowerTune intelligent technology to enable higher clock speeds and faster gaming, the company claims.
The AMD Radeon HD 6990 offers immersive HD gaming and computing with native support for up to five displays using AMD Eyefinity multi-display technology, with six display support possible via DisplayPort 1.2 components.
The graphics card also features a dual-BIOS toggle switch, allowing enthusiast gamers to unlock the card and rev up the clocks and voltages, and supports HDMI 1.4a technology for a stereoscopic 3D gaming and movie experience.
AMD GPU Division corporate vice president and general manager Matt Skynner said coupled with AMD Eyefinity multi-display technology, AMD PowerTune power management and AMD HD3D, this card is so powerful that it can take on even the most demanding ultra-enthusiast tasks.
The graphics card features new AMD PowerTune technology for performing real-time intelligent power management, increased memory for higher image quality, and DirectX 11-capable GPU, the company said.
It also features AMD EyeSpeed technology for experiencing clearer and more vibrant videos, Unified Video Decoder 3 (UVD3) for enhanced video quality, and supports IEEE 754 double precision floating point ops for improved computing capabilities.
Available immediately to retailers worldwide, select models of the new graphic card starts at $699 MSRP.
